Genzyme shortages to end soon

According to a September 24th article in The Boston Globe, Genzyme expects to correct shortages for Cerezyme and Fabrazyme by the first quarter of 2010. Genzyme said it has successfully restarted its Allston Landing plant in Boston, which was closed by viral contamination this past June. The company anticipates that newly produced Cerezyme “will be available for shipment beginning in November and December.” The first shipments of newly produced Fabrazyme “are expected to occur in mid-December.”
