The National Tay-Sachs & Allied Diseases Association (NTSAD) honored the accomplishments of its New York Area Chapter Co-President Marion Yanovsky at a May 8th event, where the establishment of The Marion Yanovsky Research & Education Fund was announced. More than $85,000 was raised for the fund, which will support NTSAD local area activities moving forward.
The mission of the NTSAD, which is a member organization of GDF, is to lead the fight to treat and cure Tay-Sachs, Canavan and related genetic diseases and to support affected families and individuals in leading fuller lives. Marion has devoted nearly 50 years of service, contributing to education efforts that increase awareness about genetic screening; providing support for affected families; and raising funds to research a cure.
