Gastroenterology Fellow, SUNY Downstate Medical Center, University of Brooklyn Hospital at Long Island College Hospital
David J. Beyda, MD completed his residency and chief residency at Manhattan’s Beth Israel Medical Center in July 2011 and is currently doing his fellowship in Gastroenterology.
Dr. Beyda completed his medical training at Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel in 2007. During his time there, he diagnosed his younger brother with Fabry Disease, following years of unexplained symptoms.
Fortunately, Dr. Beyda’s brother was still in the early phase of the disease. Research into available therapies led Dr. Beyda to the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and soon after meeting Dr. Robert Desnick and his staff, Dr. Beyda began involving himself in the GDF to help spread awareness of genetic diseases and research towards finding cures. He joined the GDF Medical Advisory Board in 2009.
