Dr. Eddleman is a sought-after expert and educator with more than 25 years experience in maternal-fetal medicine and clinical genetics. Specializing in reproductive genetics and pre-natal diagnostics, Dr. Eddleman has been Director of Obstetrics at Mount Sinai School of Medicine (MSSM) since 2006 and a Professor of Human Genetics and of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Science since 2008.
He has authored and co-authored dozens of articles including original research, reviews and invited papers, for medical journals such as Clinical Genetics and other publications. He serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology International.
Dr. Eddleman co-authored the books Pregnancy for Dummies and The Pregnancy Bible and has written several published book chapters.
Frequently invited to speak at professional conferences, Dr. Eddleman has also served as an invited faculty member and visiting professor at academic institutions worldwide. He has been a Fellow in the Institute for Medical Education at Mount Sinai since 2011.

His previous academic appointments include Assistant and Associate Professorships in Human Genetics and Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Science at MSSM; Clinical Instructor in Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Science, MSSM; and Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Medicine, Cornell University School of Gynecology.
Dr. Eddleman completed post-graduate training at George Washington University Medical Center’s Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, followed by a Fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at MSSM and a Fellowship in Human Genetics at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center’s Division of Human Genetics.
Board certified in Clinical Genetics, Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Eddleman is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, American Society of Human Genetics, American College of Medical Genetics, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (Ethics and Professional Standards Committee, 1992-96), International Fetal Medicine and Surgery Society and NY Obstetrical Society. He is also a member of the non-profit Island Peer Review Organization.
Dr. Eddleman received a B.S. in Zoology from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and an M.D. from Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC.
