Robert S. April, MD, MA

Clinical Assistant Professor, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York City; Faculty, NYC Medical School; Practicing Neurologist

Dr. April received his MD from the University of California School of Medicine in 1960 and began his clinical training in neurology at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital that same year.

An attending neurologist at Lenox Hill Hospital since 1977 and at Mt. Sinai Hospital since 1983, Dr. April is also affiliated with Manhattan Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat Hospital and New York University (NYU) Medical Center.

Dr. April completed nine years of clinical training, including a fellowship at Mt. Sinai, and served in various hospital positions including Chief of Neurology Service at New York Medical College Center for Chronic Disease.

Dr. April has published numerous articles and spoken extensively around the world on topics related to neurologic disorders, genetics and brain imaging.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and the New York Academy of Medicine, Dr. April is a member of the Society of Neuroimaging, the American EEG Society, Société Française de Neurologie and the New York County Medical Society.

Dr. April also earned an MA in French literature from the NYU Graduate School of Arts .
